Joe Praise for Supple - Ipswich Town News
Boss Joe Royle has praised U18 keeper Shane Supple after the Irishman put in a fine display in the FA Youth Cup final first leg at Southampton. The 17-year-old made one particularly impressive save from Theo Walcott in the first half.
Royle said: "I remember when I first arrived at the club and Shane was just a dot at the time. The jersey was too big for him.
"But now I look at him and he has all the attributes to be a top-class keeper. It is now time for him to be challenging Kelvin and Lewis for a place in the first team squad."
