Murray to Become Scot? - Ipswich Town News

Former Town midfielder Antonio Murray could be about to get a Scottish U21 call. The youngster joined former Blue Tony Mowbray's Hibs in January and has impressed in the SPL.

Murray, born in Cambridge, qualifies for Scotland via his father, ex-Cambridge United player Jamie who was born in Glasgow, and Scotland U21 coach Rainer Bonhof says he has enquired whether the former Town academy player is interested: "We are aware that Antonio can play for Scotland and it is something we are looking at.

"I have spoken to John Park at Hibs and I have asked him to speak to Antonio and see if he would want to play for Scotland.

"It all depends on what Antonio thinks and whether he feels Scottish at all."

Current Town star Tommy Miller received a couple of calls from Scotland last season but has been overlooked this year.

The midfielder talks about the possibility of playing for Scotland in the latest issue of TWTD, on sale ahead of the FA Youth Cup final or via subscription: www.twtdonline.co.uk.
