Ferguson Wins Again! - Ipswich Town News
Town's Portman Road pitch has been named as the best in the Championship for the second year in succession. The award is yet another for turf guru Alan Ferguson's increasingly packed mantlepiece.
Groundsman Ferguson told the club site: "We're obviously thrilled that the pitch has come out on top again and it's testimony to all the hard work the team has put in through the year.
"We've had a lot of matches to deal with this year and how often the pitch is used is considered when the marks are handed out.
"It's the first time we have won the award in successive years as well, so we have to be delighted with that achievement."
