McDonald in Squad - Ipswich Town News

Town boss Joe Royle has included 18-year-old Dean McDonald in the first team squad for Saturday's home game with Crewe. The former Arsenal trainee was impressive in Wednesday's reserve draw at Norwich City.

McDonald is currently on a short-term deal until the end of the season, having joined the Blues initially on trial just before Christmas.

The winger or striker has been handed the number 15 shirt and his inclusion in the squad is likely to indicate that he has done enough to win himself a longer term deal at Portman Road.

The Blues have ankle injury concerns regarding Fabian Wilnis and David Unsworth, but the omission of Matt Richards from the squad suggests that Joe Royle is not expecting both his regular full-backs to miss out.

Kelvin Davis returns after dropping out of last week's game at Leeds to be with his wife and new baby.

Squad: Bent, Couñago, Currie, Davis, De Vos, Diallo, Horlock, Kuqi, Magilton, McDonald, Miller, Naylor, Price, Scowcroft, Unsworth,
Westlake, Wilnis.
