Forrest Accepts Post - Ipswich Town News
Former Town keeper Craig Forrest has accepted the position of honorary chair for the 2007 FIFA World Youth Championship in Canada. Forrest was capped 56 times for the Canadians during his playing career.
Canada Soccer Association president Andy Sharpe is pleased that the man known as Stacks has accepted the role: "We are most delighted that Craig has agreed to the position as honorary chair for the FIFA World Youth Championship Canada 2007 and look forward to his involvement in regards to staging this world class tournament."
Forrest says he is flattered to be offered the job: "I was fortunate to have participated in the youth tournament in Chile and experience what it is like as a player. I am truly honoured to accept this title and be a part of something so big for Canada."
Town's other 1990s Canadian has also been rewarded for his international achievements this week. Frank Yallop, the current head coach of the national side, was inducted into the Canadian Soccer Hall of Fame last weekend.
