Knights Unused Sub - Ipswich Town News

Academy striker Darryl Knights was an unused sub as England lost 3-2 to Turkey at the UEFA U17 Championship in Italy. Knights had played the full 90 minutes in the 4-0 defeat of Belarus on Tuesday.

The young England side were 2-0 down at the break before two goals from Joe Garner of Blackburn Rovers put them back on terms. However, a late stunner from Nuri Sahin won the game for the Turks.

England still sit top of their group, albeit on goal difference, Belarus having beaten Italy 1-0 in today's other match. With two sides from each group qualifying for the semi-finals, England need only a draw against Italy in Cascina
on Sunday to go through.

England U17s: David Button - Tottenham Hotspur, Elliot Omozusi - Fulham, Scott Golbourne - Bristol City, Leigh Mills - Tottenham Hotspur, Michael Mancienne - Chelsea, Mark Davies - Wolverhampton Wanderers (Lewis McGugan - Nottingham Forest 77), Fabrice Muamba - Arsenal, Theo Walcott - Southampton, Hogan Ephraim - West Ham United, Myles Weston - Charlton Athletic, (James Vaughan - Everton 60), Joe Garner - Blackburn Rovers.
