Armstrong Set for U's - Ipswich Town News
Former Town striker Alun Armstrong looks set to sign for Colchester United over the summer. Armstrong has spent this season with Darlington but has told Quakers' boss David Hodgson that he will not sign another deal with the North-East club.
Hodgson said: "Alun has received an offer from Colchester and he will be speaking to them in the next couple of weeks.
"Ideally, it would have been nice if Alun moved back up here, but at the end of the day he has a family to put first and we understand that."
Armstrong and his family still live in Suffolk and the 30-year-old frontman is keen to move to a club nearer to his home.
