Reserves Face Pompey - Ipswich Town News
Town's reserves complete their fixtures with a game against Portsmouth at Fratton Park this evening (KO 7pm). Steve McCall's side is mainly drawn from the FA Youth Cup-winning U18 team but with senior squad players Jimmy Juan, Dean Bowditch, Matt Richards and Dean McDonald also involved.
Bowditch, back from his loan at Burnley, is likely to be on the bench when the senior side take on West Ham in the play-offs, James Scowcroft having left the club yesterday.
The England U19 international will partner Dean McDonald up front against Pompey. The former Arsenal trainee has already done enough in his reserve appearances to win a place in the senior squad and secure a longer term contract at Portman Road.
Town's reserves currently sit at the foot of the FA Premier Reserve League (South), one point behind Portsmouth. Tonight's match is the final game of the season for both sides, so a win would guarantee avoiding an ignominious last place finish.
Reserves: Shane Supple, Sammy Moore, James Krause, Liam Trotter, Chris Casement, Aidan Collins, Cathal Lordan, Jimmy Juan, Dean McDonald, Dean Bowditch, Matt Richards. Subs: Liam Craig, Charlie Sheringham, Darryl Knights, Danny Haynes.
