Scowy Linked With City - Ipswich Town News
Stories in national newspapers this morning claim that James Scowcroft is now a target of Manchester City. The striker, earlier linked with Leicester, has been in and out of the Town side this season and committed himself to Town after that story appeared to die a death.
Last week there was speculation that David Johnson was interested in a move to City, although it seems that report eminated from a misquote in the Manchester press.
Town's ongoing attempt to sign Alun Armstrong has also sent tongues wagging with suggestions that Naylor, Johnson and now Scowcroft may find themselves on their way out of Portman Road. Manager George Burley says, however: "I feel we need to maintain the hot competition for places that has existed all season".
