Joe: Changes Inevitable - Ipswich Town News

Boss Joe Royle says he expects a number of moves in and out of Portman Road over the summer. Tommy Miller, already a target of Sunderland, Drissa Diallo, Jim Magilton, Pablo Couñago, Fabian Wilnis and Shefki Kuqi are all out of contract at the end of June.

Striker Darren Bent, who has a year left on his Town deal, has signalled his intention to leave Portman Road, with a number of clubs linked.

Royle says that a summer reshuffle could benefit the side: "There will be movement, there has to be movement, but sometimes change is good for a team.

"There will be changes, that is for sure, and over the next 48 hours I will be in a better position to see what lies ahead.

"We can't wait around all summer to find out. We are not talking about giving players ultimatums, but certainly I will ask the players to please let me know as soon as possible what they intend to do.

"The worst thing that can happen to a manager is waiting until the end of the summer before losing a player or not getting them and then finding their replacement has gone. We need early action."

Royle will talk to the out of contract players over the next couple of days.
