Rangers Visit Town - Ipswich Town News
Scottish giants Rangers will take on the Blues as part of Town's pre-season programme. Alex McLeish's side will be at Portman Road on Tuesday, July 19th (KO 7.45pm).
A visit from the Gers was expected in 1996 for John Wark's testimonial. However, the SPL champions were unable to make the benefit game for the Town midfielder, a lifelong fan.
In addition to the Rangers match, the Blues are also expecting to play Lazio at Portman Road this summer in one of the two friendlies arranged as part of the deal which took Matteo Sereni to the Rome club.
Town have away pre-season fixtures at Boston, Colchester, Canvey Island, AFC Sudbury and Dagenham and Redbridge.
