Cambridge in Pre-Season - Ipswich Town News
Town will face Nationwide Conference side Cambridge United at the Abbey Stadium in a pre-season game on Wednesday, 13th July. The match is a testimonial for long-standing U's stadium manager Ian Darler.
Darler confirmed that the Blues will be fielding a full-strength side: "I am delighted to have received confirmation that Ipswich Town will be bringing their first team for my testimonial fixture.
"I would like to thank [former Town goalkeeper coach and Cambridge player] Malcolm Webster and Roy McFarland for their part in liaising with Joe Royle to arrange this fixture."
Town sides also travel to Boston, Canvey Island, Dagenham and Redbridge, AFC Sudbury and Colchester during pre-season.
SPL champions Rangers have been confirmed as visitors to Portman Road, while Lazio are also pencilled in to play one of the two friendlies which were part of the Matteo Sereni deal.
