Royle on Summer Moves - Ipswich Town News

Boss Joe Royle says moves towards bringing in new players are going well, although it appears no signings are imminent. Royle also says that the club's promising youngsters will be given their chance if they show they are up to senior football.

The Town manager told the club site: "Players come and go, that's the nature of football.

"Change can be good anyway and can have a positive effect on a team.

"We will be bringing new players in, that's for sure and things are moving in the right direction, although it's not a race.

"We will make our move when things are in place and we think we have the right players to fit into this club.

"We also have some very good young players coming through the ranks and, while it's a big step up- to go from academy and reserve team football to the first team, they will be hungry and eager to show they are ready - and if they prove they are ready, they will get their chance.

"So, there will be some new faces in our squad next season and, hopefully, some new heroes for the Tractor Boys and Girls."

Striker Nicky Forster, who has turned down a new deal with Reading, looks favourite to be the first addition to Town's squad this summer.

The Blues are also likely to be after direct replacements for Shefki Kuqi and Tommy Miller, while an experienced goalkeeper has also been targeted with Kelvin Davis joining Sunderland earlier in the week.

Guinean international Mo Camara has been targeted to come in at left-back, another area which Royle will almost certainly seek to cover during the close season.
