Forster to Sign Today - Ipswich Town News
TWTD understands that former Reading striker Nicky Forster is at Portman Road today to have a medical and will sign a two-year contract. The 31-year-old is seen by boss Joe Royle as a direct replacement for Darren Bent who joined Charlton earlier this month.
Forster turned down a new one-year deal with the Royals after spending six years at the Madejski Stadium and is available on a Bosman free transfer.
While at Reading, having signed for £650,000 from Birmingham in June 1999, Forster made 179 starts (plus 34 appearances as a sub) and scored 67 goals. The frontman has also had spells at Hythe, Gillingham and Brentford.
Sheffield United, Millwall, Burnley, QPR and Stoke City were also linked with the 5ft 9in tall Caterham-born striker.
