Joe No to Granville Link - Ipswich Town News

Boss Joe Royle has denied any interest in Crystal Palace full-back Danny Granville. A weekend tabloid report claimed the former Leeds, Cambridge United and Manchester City man was on Royle's list of targeted defenders.

Royle, who returns from his holiday in Majorca today, told the club site that there was no truth in the reports: "I know Danny well and he's a very good player, but the simple fact is that he is out of our price range. It is as straightforward as that.

"People have put two and two together and decided he is coming here, but we have had no contact whatsoever with Palace."

Royle brought Granville to Manchester City during his spell as manager at Maine Road.

Granville's agent, former West Ham man Billy Jennings, said over the weekend that his player will be signing a new contract at Selhurst Park.
