Atkins Confirms Interest - Ipswich Town News
Bristol Rovers manager Ian Atkins has confirmed that Town skipper Jim Magilton is amongst his player-coach targets. The Northern Irishman is weighing-up whether to stay with the Blues or move to the League Two club.
Atkins said: "I am aware of Jim Magilton and he is one of a number of players whose name has popped up in speculation about this position.
"He is the type of player we would be looking for, in that he is experienced, enthusiastic and would be willing and looking to get his foot on the coaching ladder."
Atkins, a Town captain himself during the 1980s, is understood to have offered Magilton a two-year deal.
