Peters on as Late Sub - Ipswich Town News
Jaime Peters came on as a 90th minute sub as Canada opened their CONCACAF Gold Cup campaign with a 1-0 defeat to Costa Rica in Seattle. Peters, who was winning his ninth senior international cap, will officially join the Blues when he returns to the club once Canada are eliminated from the tournament.
A controversially awarded penalty on the half hour won the game for the Costa Ricans. Peters came close to creating an equaliser with a jinking run in injury time but Norwich man Jim Brennan shot wide.
In their other group games Canada face the USA, July 9th, and Cuba, July 12th.
