Willie on Pre-Season - Ipswich Town News

Assistant manager Willie Donachie says he is looking forward to Town's pre-season friendly campaign. The Blues start their preparations for 2005/06 on Wednesday at Cambridge and face Boston away and Rangers at home over the next week.

Donachie told the club site: "The players have been in for a week or so and now it's about preparing for match action and being competitive.

"We have a fantastic pre-season ahead, with two big games at Portman Road, and the tour to Hungary should be good as well.

"We are looking for hard games, opponents that will test us so that we can see what we are doing well and where we need to improve.

"We'll be giving some of the younger boys a chance and it's a great opportunity for all of them.

"You don't know who's going to come through but they are all a good bunch of lads and it's an exciting time for them."
