Peters and Canada Win - Ipswich Town News
Jaime Peters was a 56th minute sub as Canada defeated Cuba 2-1 in their final group game at the CONCACAF Gold Cup. However, it is likely that Canada's exit from the competition will be confirmed later today.
Frank Yallop's side could still qualify as one of the two best third-placed finishers but would need Jamaica to defeat Mexico by six goals in their match in Houston tonight.
Peters, winning his 11th senior cap against Cuba, is expected to join up with the Town squad once Canada are out of the tournament and will sign his contract shortly afterwards.
