Canada and Peters Out - Ipswich Town News
Jaime Peters and Canada were knocked out of the CONCACAF Gold Cup last night after Jamaica failed to defeat Mexico by six goals. Frank Yallop's side required the unlikely result in order to progress to the quarter-finals as one of the two best third-placed teams.
Mexico beat Jamaica 1-0 to confirm Canada's early exit from the US-based tournament. Yallop's side lost their first two matches against Costa Rica and the US before defeating Cuba. Peters came on as a sub in all three games.
The 18-year-old winger is now expected to return to Portman Road within the next week to join in with pre-season training and officially sign for the Blues.
