Johnno Linked - Ipswich Town News
A tabloid newspaper is linking former striker David Johnson with a return to Town. Johnson, 28, has a year left on his Nottingham Forest contract but has been made available on a free transfer.
It is unlikely that Town are targeting Johnson having signed Nicky Forster as a replacement for Darren Bent earlier this summer and with youngsters Dean McDonald, Billy Clarke and Darryl Knights in a similar mould.
In addition, Joe Royle is not amongst Johnson's fans and has said on numerous occasions that he will be putting his meagre resources towards bringing in one or perhaps two defenders before the start of the season.
Johnson joined Forest from Town for £3 million in January 2001.
