Five Goals Please Boss - Ipswich Town News

Boss Joe Royle was pleased with Town's five-goal haul at Boston on Saturday, but was disappointed that his side conceded twice against the League Two side. Royle has missed both of Town's pre-season friendlies having recently undergone knee replacement surgery but is expected to be back at work today.

Royle said: "I have had reports from the coaches and I don't think either game told us anything we didn't already know.

"We got five goals away from home and some teams don't get that in a month, but we also conceded two goals to a side we shouldn't really be allowing to score against us.

"There are still a few things to sort out, like finding the right balance in midfield, but Rangers tomorrow night will be a very different challenge.

"I will be putting out a side that could be close to the one that takes on Cardiff in our first league game on August 6th."

A Town reserve side are taking on Dereham Town tonight at the Norfolk side's Aldiss Park ground (KO 7.30pm).

Reserves squad: Supple, Moore, Krause, Casement, Collins, Trotter, Lordan, Haynes, Ainsley, Sheringham, Haverson, Boto, Leabon, Webster, Fenn, Barrett, Nimmo.
