Forster: A Good Workout - Ipswich Town News
Striker Nicky Forster felt that the friendly against Rangers was useful to Town despite losing 2-0. Peter Lovenkrands and Nacho Novo scored the goals which defeated the Blues.
Forster told the club site: "They looked a good side. You could tell they were a week or two on from us with their fitness and they kept the ball well and looked what they are, a quality side.
"But, while we were disappointed to lose, it's a learning curve for us and another game under our belts.
"It was difficult for Sam and myself to have the chance to get our partnership going because we were up against top class players at the back.
"But that will come and we won't be playing against players and a team of that standard every week in the Championship.
"I had one chance in the second half but my boot ended up in the goal and the ball went wide, which wasn't quite the desired effect!
"It was a good workout for us though, and we'll be better for the game."

The home side had been the better side in the first half, albeit with the visitors having two of the period’s three best chances, but the Blues fell apart in the second after Sonny Carey had given the Addicks the lead on 52 with Macaulay Gillesphey and Miles Leaburn adding goals on 55 and 64 to inflict the Town’s first Portman Road defeat of the season and their biggest Championship loss on their own turf since the 4-0 loss to Aston Villa more than seven years ago.
