Makin Joins Reading - Ipswich Town News
Former Blue Chris Makin has joined Reading on a one-year deal. The full-back was understood to want to rejoin Town this summer but boss Joe Royle wasn't interested in signing the 31-year-old who left the Blues without a word last summer.
Makin failed to win a contract at Bolton after leaving Town and spent last season with Leicester and then Derby. The Rams offered him another deal this season but, after a short trial at Stoke, the former Marseille, Oldham and Sunderland man has decided on a move to the Madejski Stadium.
Recent Town trialist Rui Marques is expected to join Leeds United later today. Marques had been on trial at Elland Road prior to spending time at Portman Road.
Yesterday Marques and fellow trialist Edwin Ouon were told that Town would not be offering them deals.
