Trialist Joins Leeds - Ipswich Town News
Recent Town trialist Rui Marques has agreed terms with Leeds United. TWTD reported on Thursday that the Angolan international, who played for the Blues in the friendly against Rangers, was set for a move to Elland Road.
Town boss Joe Royle decided not to sign Marques or fellow trialist Edwin Ouon after short trials and their appearances against the Scottish champions.
Marques, who had had a trial with the Whites prior to his spell with Town, says he hopes to take his new club back into the top flight: "Leeds is a big club, it's really a Premier League club and I believe that Leeds will be in the Premiership again.
"I had some difficult times after Germany, but I think England will be a new start for me. I think it will be very interesting for me to play in England and I believe I have a lot to offer."
