Joe Rules Out Duo - Ipswich Town News
Boss Joe Royle says he is not interested in signing Shaun Goater or Nikos Dabizas. Goater has had his contract settled at Reading and his availablility was inevitably likely to lead to speculation that the Bermudian was about to link-up with his former manager at Manchester City.
However, Royle says he is continuing to look for two defenders to add to his squad and is not targeting frontmen: "We have no room for another attacker. We are limited in what we can do financially and our hot-spot is the defence, so the funds I have available will be directed at bringing in two defenders."
Dabizas was linked with Town yesterday despite being on the verge of joining Belgian side Anderlecht. Royle says he has shown no interest in the former Newcastle United and Leicester City defender.
