Duo to Miss Out - Ipswich Town News
Boss Joe Royle says he will not be risking central defender Jason De Vos or striker Nicky Forster against Colchester United at Layer Road this evening (KO 7.45pm). Forster has suffered a reaction to his thigh injury, while De Vos hurt his knee in Friday's game against Atlético Madrid.
Royle, who is also without Dean Bowditch and Aidan Collins, is keen not to lose anyone else for Saturday's league opener at home to Cardiff: "Jason took a knock on his knee and Nicky suffered a bit of reaction to the thigh strain that has kept him out recently.
"The last thing I wanted was for them to be missing for our first game of the season against Cardiff.
"We are short of numbers and don't need injuries. Our first XI is probably good enough to compete and challenge, but beyond that we are struggling in terms of experience."
Town will field defensive trialists Sito, Mark Fish and Schumann Bah at Layer Road.
