Jim to Escape Ban? - Ipswich Town News
Town skipper Jim Magilton looks to have escaped a ban for his pre-season red card against Újpest. The FA are yet to receive a report on the incident in which the Northern Irishman and Újpest's Hungarian international striker Péter Rajczi were both given their marching orders.
The Hungarian FA have not contacted their English counterparts and it could be that referee Attila Dubraviczky did not include the incident in his match report. Magilton had faced receiving a three-match ban if the clash between the pair been deemed violent conduct.
Boss Joe Royle says he is hopeful that the matter will go no further: "We have not heard anything and it is unlikely, although not impossible, that we will now after so long."
