American on Trial - Ipswich Town News

TWTD understands that the Blues will be taking American midfielder Stuart Holden on trial. Holden, 19, has previously had trials with Everton and Leicester, and was offered a short-term contract by Sunderland last season,

During his time with the Wearsiders, he was attacked in Newcastle city centre while on a night out and suffered a fractured eye socket which forced him out of action for a lengthy period of his time at the Stadium of Light.

The Black Cats released him at the end of the season and he went on trial at Leicester last month, playing in a pre-season game against Brackley Town.

Holden has a British passport and would therefore be able to join the Blues without any of the problems which beset Jaime Peters. The Blues are also looking to central Europe for other trialists.
