Bentley Linked - Ipswich Town News
Newspaper reports this morning are linking Town with a loan bid for Arsenal striker David Bentley. The Blues, West Ham, Portsmouth, Birmingham City, Wolves, Luton, Leeds, Southampton and Norwich are all said to be interested in the England U21 international.
However, with Town boss Joe Royle looking for defensive additions and having added two strikers to the ranks over the summer, a move for the ex-Norwich loanee seems extremely unlikely.
Meanwhile, Royle has confirmed that he made a loan enquiry regarding Rangers defender Michael Ball when the Scottish champions played a pre-season friendly at Portman Road in July. Ball is currently in the Rangers first team and Town's interest is unlikely to have gone any further.
