Reserves Face Pompey - Ipswich Town News

Town's reserves start their season tonight when they take on Portsmouth at Portman Road (KO 7pm). The Blues include first teamers Jaime Peters, Dean Bowditch, Jimmy Juan and Owen Garvan, while Scott Barron, Michael Synnott and Aidan Collins will be involved as they recover from injuries.

Barron is on his way back from groin surgery, while Collins suffered a knee injury in the pre-season game at Canvey Island. Synnott returned to action in last week's U18 friendly with Rushden after a knee problem.

Town once again call on Lowestoft Town keeper Andy Reynolds with Shane Supple required for the first team due to Lewis Price's injury. Icelandic academy keeper Ã"skar Pétursson is out of action after breaking his wrist in the summer.

Reynolds was on the bench as Town's U18 side beat Southampton to win the FA Youth Cup last season.

Former Town loanee David Unsworth could be in the Portsmouth side, although Pompey are yet to announce their squad for tonight's game.

Reserves: Andy Reynolds, Michael Synnott, Scott Barron, Jimmy Juan, Aidan Collins, Chris Casement, Jaime Peters, Owen Garvan, Dean Bowditch, Dean McDonald, Liam Craig, Cathal Lordan, Sammy Moore, Liam Trotter, Darryl Knights.
