Armstrong Thanks Town - Ipswich Town News

Former Blue Alun Armstrong has thanked Town for letting him use their facilities while he finds himself another club. The striker left Darlington at the end of last season in the hope fo finding a club more local to his home in Suffolk.

Armstrong had hoped to join Colchester United but no offer was forthcoming and he has started the season back training with Town who released him just over a year ago.

The ex-Stockport, Newcastle and Middlesbrough player told the club site: "I can't thank Joe and Ipswich enough for what they have done for me over the last two years.

"When I've been injured they have let me use the facilities at the training ground and also helped with my general fitness.

"I'm just about recovered from a lower back injury and am working towards match fitness and Ipswich have helped me all the way by allowing me to train at the club.

"We still live in the area. My family love it down here and we don't want to move away from Suffolk but I need to find a new club so we might have to do that."
