New Name for North Stand? - Ipswich Town News
Chief executive Derek Bowden says the club are close to securing a sponsor for the North Stand. The Blues first announced that they were looking for a sponsor for the North Stand three years ago.
Bowden says the club are talking with a company about a six-figure deal: "We are in conversation with someone about sponsoring the North Stand and hope to have something in place this season.
"It is the home of the fans and £100,000 is the area of value we put on that. It is a large sum of money and someone is going to have to take a commercial and emotional decision about that."
Stadium sponsorship has also been mentioned on a number of occasions over the last four years but unless Powergen take up an option to add their name to Portman Road this won't happen in the short term.
