Illugason Impresses - Ipswich Town News
Icelandic youngster Viktor Unnar Illugason has impressed the Town academy coaches while on trial at Playford Road this week. The 15-year-old striker has been asked back for further spells in October and February of next year and looks likely to be offered a scholarship starting next summer.
Illugason scored for Town's U16s in Saturday's 4-1 win over Cambridge United and also in a 2-2 draw with Charlton on Tuesday.
The Iceland U17 international is also on his way to taking his Breiðablik youth side to their league title having scored 11 goals in nine games.
Two Icelandic players joined Town's academy this summer, goalkeeper Ã"skar Pétursson and midfielder Björn Orri Hermannsson.
