Illugason Impresses - Ipswich Town News

Icelandic youngster Viktor Unnar Illugason has impressed the Town academy coaches while on trial at Playford Road this week. The 15-year-old striker has been asked back for further spells in October and February of next year and looks likely to be offered a scholarship starting next summer.

Illugason scored for Town's U16s in Saturday's 4-1 win over Cambridge United and also in a 2-2 draw with Charlton on Tuesday.

The Iceland U17 international is also on his way to taking his BreiÃ°ablik youth side to their league title having scored 11 goals in nine games.

Two Icelandic players joined Town's academy this summer, goalkeeper Ã"skar Pétursson and midfielder Björn Orri Hermannsson.
