McEveley Hopes to Play - Ipswich Town News
Left-back Jay McEveley says he hopes to be fit to make his home debut against Southampton on Tuesday night. The loanee from Blackburn bruised his foot in Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Sheffield United.
McEveley told the club site: "It's improving and I'm fairly confident I will be OK for Tuesday.
"It was bad enough on Saturday and there was a lump the size of an egg on my foot, but I've iced and rested it over the two days.
"The bruising has come out now and that's a good sign. I will probably need to strap it up but, hopefully, I will be clear to play against Southampton."
If McEveley fails to make it, Matt Richards will be recalled on the left side of defence. Town are already without Sito who is suspended for one match after being sent off against the Blades.
