Bad News on Westy - Ipswich Town News

An x-ray has shown Ian Westlake's ankle injury to be worse than originally thought and the midfielder is now expected to be out for another two months. Better news is that Fabian Wilnis's groin problem isn't as bad as initially feared.

Westlake went over on the ankle in training 10 days ago and was originally expected to be out for six weeks. Boss Joe Royle is keen to add a loanee to his squad to replace the former academy player.

Wilnis injured his groin in the 2-2 draw with Southampton and is now expected to be available for the Leeds match on Saturday, September 24th.

Dean Bowditch is OK after picking up a thigh problem on Tuesday as well as a blow to the head, while loan defender Jay McEveley will be fine to face the Canaries on Sunday after his foot problem and a stomach bug earlier in the week.
