Town Targeted Fletcher - Ipswich Town News
West Ham midfielder Carl Fletcher was targeted by Town last week shortly before the ex-Bournemouth man joined Watford on loan. Boss Joe Royle is looking for a loan midfielder as cover for Ian Westlake who is out of action until November, possibly December with an ankle injury.
Royle confirmed that he enquired about the 25-year-old: "We did ask about him and said we were interested. I'm not even sure if he knew of our interest, but he's gone elsewhere, so that's that."
Fletcher was previously linked with a move to Town in the summer of 2003 during his days as a Bournemouth player.
