No Formal Mahon Bid - Ipswich Town News
Boss Joe Royle says that Town have not made a new approach for ex-loanee Alan Mahon, contrary to a statement released by Wigan Athletic on Tuesday.
Royle told the club site: "Our chief scout Colin Suggett had a conversation with one of the Wigan scouts about Alan's situation.
"I have not spoken to Paul Jewell about Alan though and there has been no formal approach made to Wigan either."
On Tuesday the Latics announced that they had turned down a loan bid from the Blues, Paul Jewell stating that he was unwilling to allow his players to go out on loan: "Everyone has a part to play in the squad, and as far as I am concerned nobody will be leaving us at any point in the near future."
