Irish Pair Released - Ipswich Town News

Youngsters Shane Supple and Owen Garvan have been released from the Ireland U19 squad. The duo, along with striker Billy Clarke, were named in the squad for the first qualifying phase of the UEFA U19 European Championship, however the matches clash with Town's games against Reading and Coventry.

Clarke, who won caps for the Irish U19s last season, is now the club's only representative.

The Irish host the tournament and take on Italy, Moldova and Northern Ireland with the top two from the group going through to the 'elite' phase of qualifying. The finals will be played in Poland next summer.

Ireland play Northern Ireland on Sunday, 16th October at Turner's Cross, Moldova at Cobh on Tuesday, 18th October and Italy on Thursday, 20th October, also at Turner's Cross.
