Clarke in Ireland Action - Ipswich Town News
Academy striker Billy Clarke will be in action for the Ireland U19s against Moldova at Cobh this evening. The Irish youngsters are currently hosting the matches in their UEFA U19 European Championship first qualifying phase group.
Clarke scored the first goal in Ireland's 2-1 victory over Northern Ireland in their opening game on Sunday. Moldova lost their first match 2-0 to Italy.
A victory for Ireland and a win for the Italians in their second game against Northern Ireland would see both nations through to the elite phase of qualifying. The finals will be held in Poland next summer.
Ireland complete their fixtures on Thursday when the play Italy at Turner's Cross, Cork.
Owen Garvan and Shane Supple were initially included in the squad for the mini-tournament but Town successfully requested their release.
