Bowditch Set for Sale? - Ipswich Town News
Boss Joe Royle says he is considering selling a player in January in order to bring in loan signings. Yesterday's reports linking Dean Bowditch with a £1 million move to West Ham has led to speculation that the 19-year-old could be the man sacrificed.
Royle said: "If we have to consider selling anyone in the window, it will be for one reason only and that would be for team strengthening.
"Talking generally, if we were to be able to get two players from one sale, then that might have to be considered."
Midfielders Carl Fletcher and Gavin Williams are reported to be the West Ham players interesting the Blues. Both were linked earlier this season and the club failed in a loan bid for Fletcher a month ago. Reports in a national newspaper yesterday claimed Town were in discussions with the Hammers over three-month loan for the ex-Bournemouth man.
