Town's U18s take on Charlton at Playford Road on Saturday lunchtime (KO noon). The youngsters will be looking to get back to winning ways after losing 3-2 to Spurs last week, their third loss on the spin.
Meanwhile, former academy goalkeeper Floyd Croll scored a goal for Wigan's reserves against Manchester United's second string at Hyde's Ewen Fields last night.
Croll, who was with the Blues as a schoolboy, punted the ball upfield and a combination of a strong wind and a surprising bounce took the ball over Tim Howard and into the net.
