Price Hailed by Boss - Ipswich Town News

Wales manager John Toshack hailed Lewis Price's debut full international performance as "outstanding", however the Town keeper couldn't prevent the Welsh from losing 1-0 in Cyprus.

An angry Toshack felt that Price's heroics prevented his less-than-impressive team from losing more comfortably: "I have never seen an international side perform as badly as that.

"Lewis Price was outstanding in goal but 1-0 flattered us - it should have been four or five.

"We were more than embarrassing. Apart from the goalkeeper we never had a player. I tried to change things at half-time but we just got worse."

The Cypriots' goal was scored by Chrysis Michael from the penalty spot in the 42nd minute after Sunderland's Danny Collins had fouled Constantinos Makrides.

Collins was replaced with Gavin Williams at half-time, the Blues loanee winning his second cap.

Town's other player away on international duty, Jaime Peters, won his 12th full Canada cap when he came on as a 64th minute substitute in a 1-0 friendly win in Luxembourg.
