Garvan in U18 Squad - Ipswich Town News

Owen Garvan is in the U18 squad as the Town youngsters begin their defence of the FA Youth Cup on Wednesday with a third round tie against Leeds at Elland Road (KO 7.30pm). The game will be the 17-year-old's first since injuring his ankle in the first team game at home to Coventry in October.

Garvan is likely to be back in the senior squad for the visit of Wolves on Saturday if he comes through Wednesday's game without a problem.

Billy Clarke, who made his first team debut as a sub at Cardiff on Monday, is also included, as is Danny Haynes who made two appearances from the bench earlier in the season.

Garvan, Clarke and Haynes were all stalwarts of last season's FA Youth Cup run, while Charlie Sheringham, Darryl Knights, Sammy Moore, Liam Trotter, Jack Haverson, Stuart Ainsley and Edward Upson, scorer of the winner in the final, were also part of the victorious squad.

The Blues won 2-1 in extra time at Leeds at the same stage of the competition two years ago with the goals coming from Aidan Collins and Darryl Knights.

Squad: Liam Trotter, Charlie Sheringham, Sammy Moore, Jack Haverson, Danny Haynes, Darryl Knights, Owen Garvan, Billy Clarke, Chris Casement, Stuart Ainsley, Luke Webster, Ã"skar Pétursson, Kieran Leabon, Oliver Fenn, Tony Boto, Russell Short, Kurt Robinson, Edward Upson, Andrew Plummer.
