Youssouf Returns Home - Ipswich Town News

On-trial Danish striker Sammy Youssouf has left Portman Road after his trial. The 29-year-old has returned to his Portuguese club Marítimo but Joe Royle is not ruling out signing the former Fremad Amager, Hvidovre IF, St Johnstone, AB Copenhagen and RBC Roosendaal man.

The Town manager said: "It would have been good to have been able to take a look at Sammy in a game but that just isn't possible. He is going back but I have told him and his agent that at this stage we are not saying no.

"We could have him back for a further look but we also have other trialists to look at in the weeks ahead, so the situation is on hold for now."

Youssouf will be available on a free transfer during the January transfer window. Town are on the lookout for a striker to replace the injured Sam Parkin and a left-back to come in for Jay McEveley, whose loan spell was ended after he tore his medial knee ligament at Cardiff.
