U18s to Learn Opponents - Ipswich Town News
Town's U18s will learn their next FA Youth Cup opponents on Saturday when Liverpool take on Cardiff in their third round tie at Anfield. The Blues, the current holders of the trophy, defeated Leeds 1-0 at Elland Road in their third round match, Billy Clarke netting from the spot.
The Irishman is already ruled out of Town's fourth round match due to the dislocated elbow he suffered in the reserves against Portsmouth earlier in the week.
Town's Academy will be well represented at Anfield as they prepare for their fourth round tie which will be played away from home prior to Saturday, 21st January.
Earlier in the season, the young Blues defeated Liverpool 3-2 in a league game at their Kirkby Academy, with Liam Craig, ineligible for the Youth Cup, scoring twice and Danny Haynes once. Town have not met the fledgling Bluebirds this season.
