Williams Set to Sign - Ipswich Town News
Town are reported to have had a fee of £350,000 accepted by West Ham for midfielder Gavin Williams. The Wales international has been on loan at Portman Road for the last two months with the intention from the beginning that the move become a permanent one.
Williams, 25, is close to agreeing personal terms and may sign a two-and-a-half year contract later today. The fee is £100,000 higher than the figure West Ham paid Yeovil for Williams's services a year ago.
The Blues are keen to make more additions to the squad during the January transfer window with manager Joe Royle after a left-back to replace Jay McEveley and one or possibly two strikers.
Town are claimed to have made unsuccessful loan bids for West Brom's Geoff Horsfield and Rob Earnshaw earlier in the season.
