Town have denied that they have any plans to bring in Colchester United manager Phil Parkinson and move Joe Royle to a director of football role. Newspaper reports over the weekend claimed the Blues were poised to move for the U's boss.

A club spokesman said: "We have seen the reports and they are complete media fabrication."
