Fuller Linked - Ipswich Town News

Southampton striker Ricardo Fuller has been linked with Town and several other Championship clubs. The former Preston man has been told he can leave the St Mary's Stadium.

Millwall and Plymouth are also said to be interested in the 26-year-old Jamaican. Town boss Joe Royle is known to want to sign one, possibly two strikers and a left-back during the transfer window.

Elsewhere in the weekend tabloids, Dean Bowditch is said to want to leave Portman Road, while Sunderland and Spurs are reported to have joined West Ham in watching Owen Garvan.

Town are also facing competition for Gavin Williams's signature from Swansea City. The Welsh club have been interested in Williams all season but missed out when he joined the Blues on loan from West Ham.

The Wales international has made his intention to sign for Town clear on a number of occasions and there seems little chance that the Blues will be gazumped by the Swans.

Williams is currently talking over a two-and-a-half year deal with Town for a fee now said to be nearer the £300,000 mark than the £350,000 reported in a local paper earlier in the week.
