Central defender Gerard Nash has joined Hartlepool United on a month's loan. The Blues are keen for the 19-year-old Irishman gain some league experience.
Nash, who has already had two cruciate knee ligament operations in his short career, told the club site he's looking forward to his spell at Victoria Park, which begins on Tuesday: "It's a great chance for me.
"I'm looking forward to playing some first team football at Hartlepool and it's just what I need at the moment.
"I've being playing for the reserves over the last month and it's the next step up for me."
Town striker Dean McDonald spent a month on loan with Pools between November and December.
Nash has made one senior appearance for Town, as a sub in the 6-1 thrashing of Burnley in the 2003/04 season.
